Hi brakesforbreasts.com owner, Thanks for the informative and well-written post!

I want to share valuable information. If you are open to the cure/vaccine partially being what we eat, I want to expose you to a study using broccoli and its results on breast cancer. Please check this out for yourselves. Sulforaphane as a Promising Natural Molecule for Cancer Prevention and Treatment Osama A Elkashty et al. Curr Med Sci. 2021 Apr. The best we can accomplish with our foods, organic of course, is to eat 3 cups of broccoli or broccoli sprouts (very simple & inexpensive to grow your own), to keep the body so infused with this particular antioxidant, like the icing on the vaccine cake. God bless your work. Marge

Being a female in the auto repair industry has never been easy. In many ways, Brakes for Breasts has helped bridge that gap. We have supported Brakes for Breasts for two years now and will continue til the battle is won. In 2020, our third check to Brakes for Breasts will have a comma in it!! Our involvement has allowed us to get to know so many of our clients on a much more personal level through their own cancer stories, some with happy endings and some with tears. I am Blessed that I don't have a personal cancer story yet; but I do have a daughter and granddaughter. I will do all I can to help eradicate cancer for them and each one of you. Thank you, Laura and Leigh Anne for leading the charge!

My Mom has had cancer twice now. Both times it was a very treatable type of cancer. Recently, she found another lump on the same breast that she had cancer in a little over a year ago. After doing another biopsy it has been determined that it is not cancer, thank God! Her best friend is currently undergoing chemo treatments for lung cancer. The treatments are making her so sick she can’t even function but they tell her it’s her best chance for survival so she keeps trudging through them. Imagine a vaccine that could prevent cancer in the first place. No cancer, no treatments, the pain and suffering, the worrying, all gone. And that is why we choose to participate in this fundraiser. Thank you ladies for coming up with this idea. If the Cleveland Clinic can pull this off…. What a difference in the world this will make!

Local shop offers free brakes to fight breast cancer – First Shop in Minnesota

LIFE/Enterprise
During the Month of October, Elysian Auto Service in Elysian is helping raise funds for a breast cancer vaccine as part of the Brakes for Breasts fundraiser. Business owners Carl and Sue Morsching are excited to be the first in Minnesota to take part is this program.
“My mom, Mary Ellen Tousignant, passed away 20 years ago due to cancer. There’s not a day I don’t miss her, and while we’ve participated in walks and other fundraisers before, we felt we wanted to do more. When I learned about this program and what Dr. Tuohy is doing, we knew it was a good fit for us,” Sue explained.
Dr. Vincent Tuohy has created a vaccine that has proved effective in laboratory animals in actually preventing breast cancer. After 13 long years, Dr. Touhy and his research team are just a year away from their first bedside trial. All of the money raised by the Brakes for Breasts program will directly benefit the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund, towards research.
Ten percent of each brake job done during October as part of the Brakes for Breasts fundraiser will be donated to Dr. Tuohy and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.
“My mom died of ovarian cancer, but we have other family members who have fought breast cancer. Plus, Dr. Touhy’s second vaccine is focused on ovarian cancer,” Sue explained. “Cancer effects so many people… so many families. We’re happy to offer this program to our customers.”
In addition to helping raise money in the fight against breast cancer, the Brakes for Breasts program is also a good deal for customers. As part of the fundraiser, the auto repair facilities are giving away free, quality brake pads or shoes. The customer pays the labor and any other ancillary parts necessary to complete the brake job and the shops then donate the brakes.
The Brakes for Breasts program is in its fifth year, having started with five shops in Ohio in 2011. The fundraising program has grown each year and now includes 135 independent auto repair shops across the country. Visit http://www.brakesforbreasts.org for more information.

Thank you Mighty Pro! I’m a Breast Cancer Survivor for 8yrs. In Dec 2012 I was diagnosed with a recurrence, that had spread to the bone marrow. I’m on a new drug, Afinitor, which is fabulous and has kept the cancer contained. Quality of life is excellent! This money for research works! Afinitor has only been approved for BC a little over a year! New drugs are found to work everyday. Another new Breast Cancer drug was approved this week, Oct, 1,2013. Thank you again, Mighty Pro! You are the best! PINK is the color for October!

April 2008 I found a lump in my breast that turned out to be a no big deal cyst.
Then in April 2009 I had another ultrasound and I had my first ever mammogram.
The lump was still just a cyst, but, the mammogram found 3 tiny calcifications.
Thank the gods for that lump, because I would not have had a mammogram otherwise. It was my good luck lump! The next step was a needle biopsy. That is where they have you stick your breast through a hole in the table and take a thousand mammograms and you can’t move an inch while they do the biopsy trying to get out the teeny tiny cysts. Unfortunately for me, the tissue sample’s turned out to be cancerous cells, and was told I would major surgery.
I had surgery in June and it took 2 weeks before I felt back to normal from the effects of the anesthesia.
I only had a small amount of tissue taken out, so after I was finally able to take off the bandage, I was thrilled to see that my breast was not deformed. I never knew how much I enjoyed having breasts, until I had to think about it getting taken away!
At first the Doctors were all, “yea, we got all the cancer out and now you only need radiation and tomaxifen” (tomaxifen- which throws you into menopause immediately -lovely). But then my surgeon called a couple of days later with some startling news: “Something was not adding up and it looked like it MIGHT be necessary to have more surgery.” He would schedule me for another mammogram but couldn’t give me any information until he got back from his vacation… wait, wait, wait.
After another round of mammograms, the word from my surgeon was that I would have to have another operation. He gave me a lengthy explanation, which I had to ask a ton of questions before I understood what was going on. The long & short of it was that they wanted to take out more tissue to give me better margins around where the cancer was. I had the second operation which was pretty much a repeat for the first.
After so many weeks of recuperating, they set up my appointment for radiation. I would be getting zapped five days a week for six weeks. Getting radiation treatment is very deceptive. The treatment itself only takes about ten minutes and don’t really seem like a big deal. But, as the days went by my brave little boob got redder and sore. It started out looking like I had spent the whole day at the beach on a really hot day & forgot to put on sunscreen. But then it turned into a wounded oozing mess and I turned into a tired mental nut case. I wore as little clothes as possible and ended up using 3 different products on my skin (morning goop, afternoon goop, and before bed goop) trying to heal the ooze, as I got re-burned each day.
In the midst of this mess, I was busy buying out my business partner. It was a leap of faith to continue moving forward taking out a giant loan against my house. Being so out of it I made a couple of poor negotiating decisions . . . but, it all worked out in the end.
All in all I was one for the fortunate ones. Because my lucky lump pointed out the cancer, it was taken care of before it grew into a monster. I personally want this vaccine so I won’t have to deal with breast cancer again. I want my daughter, my mother and sisters to have this vaccine. I want all my girl friends and every woman everywhere to have a chance to NOT get breast cancer. Please Donate & be a part of ending Breast Cancer!
