Brakes for Breasts Vendor Solicitation Policy
Purpose
To protect our participating independent auto repair shops from unwanted commercial solicitation while maintaining opportunities for legitimate charitable partnerships that benefit breast cancer research.
Policy Statement
Prohibited Activities:
- Vendors, service providers, and third parties are strictly prohibited from soliciting Brakes for Breasts participating shops for commercial purposes
- Using our participant list, contact information, or event access to market products or services is not permitted
- Direct sales outreach to our shops under the guise of supporting our cause is forbidden
Permitted Activities:
- Vendors may establish donation-based partnerships where they contribute to Brakes for Breasts when shops independently choose to use their services
- Such donations must be made without any requirement that shops change their existing business practices or systems
- Donation commitments should be based on voluntary adoption of services, not targeted solicitation of our participants
Guidelines for Donation Partnerships
Acceptable Donation Programs:
- Vendor commits to donate a specified amount for each participating shop that voluntarily adopts their service
- No direct solicitation or marketing to Brakes for Breasts participants is involved
- Shops maintain complete autonomy in their business decisions
- Donations are made regardless of whether shops were already customers or became customers for reasons unrelated to the charitable program
Key Distinction:
The difference between acceptable donation partnerships and prohibited solicitation is simple: acceptable partners support our cause through their existing customer relationships without targeting or pressuring our participants, while prohibited solicitation involves using our participant network for commercial gain.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy will result in immediate exclusion from any current or future partnerships with Brakes for Breasts. We reserve the right to publicly communicate policy violations to protect our participating shops and the integrity of our mission.
